Johnson County Museum Foundation
The Johnson County Museum Foundation was established in 1987 as a not-for-profit organization to support and promote exhibit development, educational programs, and special events of the Johnson County Museum. The Johnson County Museum is located at the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center at 8788 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS. The museum also operates the Lanesfield School Historic Site in Edgerton, KS.
Support the Diversity Internship Program
The Johnson County Museum launched a new strategic plan in September 2019, and a major initiative is this new
program, launching in Summer 2020. The Museum is partnering with UMKC's Public History program to mentor
and train diverse undergraduate and graduate students in museum work. This initiative is one of many that
focuses on diversity, inclusion, equity, and accessibility. Thank you to JE Dunn for its financial support of this
initiative. More resources are needed to make this a success. If you'd like to contribute, please select the
link below. If you have questions, please contact the museum director at 913-826-2787.
The Museum Foundation provides access to field trip programs through a scholarship to Title One Schools. Qualifying schools receive 1/2 price admission to programs at the Arts & Heritage Center and the Lanesfield Historic Site. Gifts to support this initiative.
